Hear Both Modes Of The New Corvette E-Ray

Chevrolet has just released a teaser video of the next iteration of Corvette to come rolling out of the Bowling Green Assembly plant soon. In this short video, we get a little more information about how this electrified variant will co-exist with the LT2 engine that was recently plopped in the rearward portion of the car beginning in the latest generation. The Corvette E-Ray will combine internal combustion and electric propulsion into a single harmonious package.

The video shows that the driver can choose the desired mode before “starting” the car. We don’t know how the vehicle or driver will decide to proceed should the batteries require charging or how far the car will go on just electricity alone. But much of that information should be forthcoming, as Chevrolet has declared that all things “E-Ray” will be revealed in just a few days, on January 17, 2023.

This new video gives some insight into how the driver will choose which means of propulsion they desire. There will be the normal roar from that healthy V-8 engine or the silent glide when the Corvette is put into “Stealth” mode.

Chevrolet also put out another short teaser video of the car in camo and drifting around on a snow-covered, closed course. Even in that earlier video, there were those sweet-sounding vibes from the car’s LT2 engine, so in the eyes of many, this is still a proper Corvette with the requisite V-8 propulsion when desired. It’s the best of both worlds, hopefully.

With the introduction of an “E” Corvette, there are so many questions yet unanswered, and many enthusiasts are withholding their verdict until they can get an opportunity to experience one of these high-tech Corvettes first-hand. We’ll indeed be looking forward to it and will keep you all informed as we find out more.
